Shoppers looking to refresh their autumn wardrobe on a budget may find a new option at Lidl. The supermarket's upcoming Special Buy update includes an Esmara Ladies' Beige Chunky Knit Jumper, priced at £6.99, available in stores from Sunday, October 18.
The jumper features a "jacquard pattern and raglan sleeves with ribbed cuffs," according to Lidl. It is made with recycled materials, including 73% acrylic, 21% polyester (recycled), 4% wool, and 2% elastane, with the store noting that the elastane is Lycra "for a superior fit." Sizes range from small to large.
Similar Pattern to a Pricier Option
The beige 'Norwegian-style' jumper shares a similar pattern on the front and back to a more expensive jumper at John Lewis. That retailer sells a Hush Meryl Roll Neck Fairisle Jumper in 'sand brown' for £135.
For those who like the look of the John Lewis version but want to spend less, Lidl's option could serve as a budget-friendly alternative. While the two jumpers are not identical and differ in material and design, both feature a similar 'Norwegian-style' pattern across the neckline and chest.
Design Differences
Lidl's jumper has a standard ribbed crew neck, while the John Lewis jumper features a high, slouchy roll neck. In terms of fit, Lidl's jumper offers a close-to-neck standard fit and length, whereas the John Lewis version is more oversized with a relaxed silhouette and dropped shoulders.
For shoppers seeking a beige jumper with a 'Norwegian-style' pattern for under £10, Lidl's option may be worth considering. The £7 jumper also resembles H&M's £27.99 Jacquard-Knit Jumper, which has now sold out.

Lidl is also releasing Ladies' Blue Loungewear Trousers for £4.99. The supermarket says they are "made with recycled materials" with a "contrasting stripe down the sides," a "regular rise with a wide leg," and "Lycra for a superior fit," available in sizes S-L.
For men, there is a Men's Black Padded Gilet for £8.99. The store describes it as "lightweight, warm and wind-resistant," with "water-repellent outer fabric thanks to Bionic-Finish Eco technology," a "high collar with full zip and chin guard," and pockets, in sizes M-XXL.
Lidl is also introducing a range of socks, including fluffy options and patterned styles, both priced at £1.99. Patterns include ducks, rolls and pretzels, cherries and bananas, astronauts, and more.
