Lidl has released a new jumper in time for the autumn weather, offering a budget-friendly alternative for shoppers who like the look of a similar ASOS jumper but want to keep costs low.
Every Thursday and Sunday, the supermarket adds new items to its Special Buy deals in its Middle Aisle. A recent update has seen a variety of autumnal fashion land in stores, from jumpers and gilets to fleece jackets and boots.
Lidl's Esmara jumper features
One new clothing item now available is the Esmara Ladies' Grey and Beige Jumper, priced at £6.99 and available in small, medium, and large. It offers a relaxed, contemporary look with dropped shoulders for a casual silhouette. Its neutral grey and beige colour palette may make it easy to style with everyday wardrobe pieces. It is crafted from a soft knit blend that includes 4% wool.
For shoppers who like the look of ASOS's JJXX Ombre Jumper in brown, Lidl's £7 version could be a more affordable option, as both jumpers share similar features at a glance. The ASOS jumper usually costs £35, but is currently on offer at £17.99.
Comparing the two jumpers
Both jumpers share similar features in terms of colour, pattern and overall shape. Like Lidl's version, ASOS's jumper comes with long sleeves, a ribbed trim, a relaxed fit and a grey and beige colour gradient pattern.
However, there are differences besides price. The ASOS garment is described as a "fluffy knit" and is made from acrylic, polyester, nylon and elastane, whereas Lidl's is made from acrylic, polyester, polyamide and wool. ASOS also offers other colour options, while Lidl only has one. Opting for Lidl's version could save shoppers a bit more money, leaving customers to decide which design, brand and price they prefer.
Other new items at Lidl
Lidl shoppers can also find a new Esmara Ladies' Brown Jumper in the Middle Aisle for £7.99. Made with Lycra "for a superior fit," according to Lidl, sizes range from small to large, and the jumper features dropped shoulders with ribbed detailing across the neckline, waist and wrist cuffs.
There is also an Esmara Ladies Beige Teddy Fleece Jacket, priced at £8.99. This design is described as fluffy and comfortable, complete with a zip fastening and two oversized pockets.
In other autumn news, Aldi is launching Latte and Frappe Duo Sachets, priced at 99p each and landing in stores on October 11. An Aldi spokesperson said: "These delicious drinks are the perfect way to embrace cosy season."
