Lidl is bringing a new decorative LED lantern to all its UK stores from Thursday, October 29, priced at £3.99, offering a budget option for festive mood lighting at home.
The LIVARNO LED Lantern Decoration comes in three designs—light globe gold and white, black and gold, and gold and white—and is available for in-store collection only. The supermarket, which has roughly 1,000 locations across the UK, suggests the item could be ideal for creating ambient lighting throughout the home.
Product Features and Designs
The battery-powered lantern is made from glass and includes string lights with 10 LEDs. It features a six-hour timer that automatically repeats daily, and can also be switched on and off manually. The base has an integrated switch and battery compartment, and the product includes batteries (3x 1.5V LR6, AA).
Shoppers can choose between a tall lamp measuring Ø9 x H19.5cm or a globe lamp measuring Ø15 x H14cm. The lantern comes with a three-year warranty.
To avoid a wasted trip, customers can check stock at their nearest Lidl by entering their postcode into the online store finder.
Budget Alternative to B&Q
The Lidl lantern is positioned as a budget alternative to a similar item at B&Q. The Christmas Decorated Vase currently retails for £11.31—nearly three times more expensive than Lidl's offering. While the two are difficult to tell apart at first glance, the B&Q version is slightly smaller, measuring 14cm tall compared with Lidl's 19.5cm. One major difference is that B&Q offers home delivery.
B&Q provides free home delivery on standard orders over £100, otherwise £6, and free on large or bulk orders over £500, otherwise £15. Delivery must be accepted by an adult and is dropped off strictly at the exterior ground floor of the property, with exclusions applying to certain remote areas and offshore islands.
Describing its product, B&Q said: "This beautiful Christmas vase lamp from SHATCHI will give any room the wow factor. The glass tube lamp contains warm white, copper wire LED lights. When switched on, the warm glow shines through the etched glass, highlighting the pattern."
B&Q added: "Lamp Christmas decoration comes in a choice of festive scenes to brighten up your home. Perfect for a side table, hall stand, windowsill or mantelpiece. SHATCHI is the market leading supplier of everything you need to make your Christmas as beautiful as ever!"
