Lidl's £20 Steam Cleaner Set: Cleans Kitchens and Bathrooms Spotless
Lidl's £20 Steam Cleaner Set: Cleans Kitchens and Bathrooms

Lidl is launching a new handheld steam cleaner as part of its SpecialBuy promotion on Sunday, July 26. Priced at £19.99, the Silvercrest Hand-Held Steam Cleaner is designed to clean, disinfect, and degrease surfaces without the need for chemicals.

The portable device comes with seven attachments, including an extension nozzle, angled nozzle, upholstery nozzle, fabric cover, and round brush. It generates high-pressure steam between 2.8 and 3.5 bar from a 250ml water tank, with a three-minute heat-up time. Safety features include overheat protection and a locking mechanism, and the unit carries a three-year warranty.

Versatile Cleaning for Multiple Surfaces

According to Lidl, the steam cleaner is effective on ceramics, metal, and enamel, breaking down grease, sanitising surfaces, and lifting mould from non-porous materials like tile grout. However, the supermarket advises caution on certain materials. Unsealed wood or laminate flooring can warp from moisture, while sensitive fabrics like silk or thin synthetics may be damaged. Surfaces painted with water-based coatings should also be treated with care. Additionally, applying high-temperature steam to cold glass can cause thermal shock, leading to cracks or shattering.

Additional Cleaning Product: Spot Cleaner

Alongside the steam cleaner, Lidl will offer a Silvercrest Spot Cleaner at £39.99, or £34.99 for Lidl Plus members. This cordless device features a built-in battery for portability and is designed to clean upholstery, carpets, and car seats. It includes a spray function and brush attachment for optimal results.

Both products are part of Lidl's ongoing strategy to provide affordable household maintenance solutions. Customers are advised to check local availability, as SpecialBuy stock can vary by location.

In related news, Aldi has released a new Ambiano Ultrasonic Cleaner for £14.99, which uses high-frequency sound waves to clean jewellery, watches, glasses, and retainers without harsh chemicals.
