Lidl has brought back its popular Bakery Spin promotion for Lidl Plus Points members, giving shoppers the chance to claim a free bakery item with every purchase. The deal, which costs just 1p as a minimum spend, is available on the app until 11.59pm on August 19, 2026.
Under the revamped Lidl Plus Points scheme, members earn one point for every £1 spent. The return of the Bakery Spin offers a free sweet or savoury treat each time they shop.
How does the Bakery Spin work?
To take part, customers need a Lidl Plus membership and must buy something from Lidl with a minimum spend of 1p. After scanning the app at the checkout, a digital bakery spin game appears on the home screen, though it can take up to 24 hours to show up.
Shoppers have seven days after purchasing to play the game, and every spin is rewarded with a free bakery item. A prize coupon is sent shortly after. The Bakery Spin can be played multiple times during the promotion, but not on the same day – shoppers must leave at least one day between purchases to get another spin.

Not every bakery item is included, and winners don't get to choose freely. Instead, they are offered a choice between two or three items, allocated at random based on stock availability. Potential freebies include:

Others opt for a single banana for less than 15p at breakfast time, so they can enjoy fruit and a free pastry for their morning meal.
