Le Creuset charity shop haul worth £1,400 stuns shopper

A San Diego-based interior designer has shared her excitement after discovering a large collection of Le Creuset cookware in a local charity shop, with the items worth more than £1,400 if bought new.

Unexpected find at Goodwill

Edden Dreiman, who regularly shares her thrift store finds with followers on Instagram, visited a local Goodwill store and was shocked to see an extensive Le Creuset collection displayed in a glass cabinet. The items, all in the same Sea Salt colour, included two large oven dishes, a pot with a lid, several Dutch ovens, and a shallow casserole dish with a lid.

In a video posted to Instagram, Dreiman wrote: "The thrift gods were with me today." The prices ranged from $79 (£58) to $99 (£73) per item, which is significantly less than the cost of buying them new.

Total value of the haul

Dreiman took home two oven dishes, a third with a slightly different design, a Modern Heritage round casserole dish with a lid, the shallow dish, and a classic Dutch oven with a lid. If purchased new, these items would have cost more than £1,400, with some individual pieces priced at over £350.

While she did not reveal the exact amount she paid, the label prices in the store suggest she secured a bargain. In her caption, she wrote: "Someone come check on me because I fear I have died and gone to thrift heaven!!"

Reactions from followers

Her followers were equally impressed, with one commenting: "NOOOO WAY! You not only found the treasure, but it also came in the perfect colour." Another wrote: "Oh wow and the colour!!" while a third said: "My girl!!! WHATTT?!?! The colour is beautiful too!!!"

Some commenters, however, complained about the prices, arguing they were higher than typical charity shop prices. One person said: "But the prices are not thrift prices." Another wrote: "Please tell me why goodwill is no longer basically considered thrift store now. They are getting out of hand with their pricing on many things now. Its pretty sad! Fantastic find though for sure."

Despite the criticism, Dreiman expressed her delight multiple times in the comment section, thrilled with her purchase.
