John Lewis has dropped all Quality Street products, including its popular pick 'n' mix stations, from its stores and website for Christmas 2026. The retailer says it is focusing on a "fresh line-up of exclusive festive treats" instead.
For the first time in years, shoppers will not be able to buy personalised Quality Street tins or any of the brand's regular chocolate tins and boxes in John Lewis stores across the UK or online. The change affects all branches, including the Trafford Centre and Cheadle Royal in Greater Manchester.
End of an era for pick 'n' mix stations
The Quality Street pick 'n' mix stations had been a viral hit for the past eight years in selected John Lewis stores, including at the Trafford Centre and Cheadle Royal. Customers could personalise special edition tins of the chocolate brand, available exclusively at John Lewis, and fill them with their own choice of flavours from an offering of up to 12, including the iconic green triangle and purple one.
John Lewis also previously offered seasonal exclusives from Quality Street, such as Christmas cracker boxes and coffee cremes. This year, no Quality Street chocolates will be available in its stores at all. Christmas displays have already gone up inside stores, with Quality Street notably missing.
Retailer and Nestlé statements
A John Lewis spokesperson said: "We're pulling out all the stops to make Christmas at John Lewis bigger, better, and more magical than ever, with a fresh line-up of exclusive festive treats and unforgettable gifts."
"Customers at our Cheadle shop can be among the first to pick up a personalised bottle of bubbly from Moët and new decadent delights from Hotel Chocolat, while shoppers in Trafford can get their hands on hot ticket stocking fillers from returning crowd favourites like Tony's Chocolonely and Fever Tree."
A spokesperson for Nestlé, which owns Quality Street, said: "We know how much shoppers enjoyed creating their own Quality Street tins at John Lewis, and it's been a brilliant part of Christmas for many years."
New Quality Street x Monopoly collaboration
Nestlé said it is doing things "a little differently" this year, teaming up with Monopoly to launch a special Quality Street x Monopoly tub over the coming weeks with thousands of prizes up for grabs. The spokesperson added that there may also be some "other festive plans up our sleeves" to be announced soon.
As part of the collaboration, each promotional tub will contain a Chance Card, giving shoppers the chance to win one of 5,000 Monopoly: Quality Street Edition boards as well as thousands of cash prizes, including a top prize of £20,580 - all the money in the Monopoly bank. The promotion also features thousands of cash prizes ranging from £5 to £500.
Created especially for the collaboration, the bespoke gameboards have an octagonal design, inspired by the brand's famous tubs and tins. Players will make their way around sweet-inspired locations like Caramel Swirl Way and Green Triangle Gardens. The traditional stations from the game have also been reimagined, celebrating places in Britain connected to Quality Street, including Halifax, where it is still manufactured today.
Beth Lucas, Marketing Director for Nestlé Confectionery UK & Ireland, said: "Quality Street has been bringing people together at Christmas for generations, and we're always looking for new ways to add a little extra magic to those special moments."
"Partnering with Monopoly, another iconic part of family celebrations, felt like a natural fit. We love that the bespoke gameboard has even been designed with space in the centre for a tub of Quality Street, making it the perfect companion for festive games nights this Christmas."
The Quality Street x Monopoly tub will be available at "stores nationwide", according to bosses, although no further details on which supermarkets have yet been confirmed. The promotion starts from November 1.
