Greggs Outlet Experience Described as 'One of the Best Days of My Life'
A woman who visited a Greggs Outlet for the first time has declared the experience 'one of the best days of her life', praising the incredibly low prices and wide selection of discounted bakery items. While Greggs operates hundreds of regular shops across the UK, the company launched its Greggs Outlets in 2022, and there are now approximately 50 such outlets nationwide, primarily located in areas with higher social deprivation to provide affordable food options and reduce waste.
Affordable Prices and Community Impact
According to Greggs, these outlets sell surplus food at reduced prices, often around 50% off the recommended retail price, helping families stretch their budgets while still enjoying quality food. A share of profits from each outlet shop goes to local charities through The Greggs Foundation, which awarded over £1.85 million in community grants last year. The bakery firm emphasises that rising energy and food prices are putting real pressure on every household's budget, with the poorest families being hit the hardest, which is why they open outlets in areas where social deprivation is high.
