Which? shares top GCSE results day freebies for 2026 – from Nando's to Bill's
GCSE results day freebies 2026: Nando's, Bill's and more

Tens of thousands of GCSE students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland receive their results today in what can be a very nervy time for teenagers and their families alike. The grades, which were given an overhaul in England in 2017 when the Conservative government changed them from traditional A* to G to 1 to 9, can play a big role in what students do next - and have an impact on their career paths.

To help alleviate some of the August 20 stress, several restaurants have announced special offers allowing pupils to enjoy free food. Whether it's a case of celebration, commiseration or just the relief it's over, Which? have compiled a list of where to grab the best GCSE results day freebies.

Just be sure to take your student ID (and in some cases proof of exam results) with you to make the most of one of the great deals below.

Banana Tree and Bill's offers

If you're a fan of Southeast Asian street food, Banana Tree restaurants are offering a free starter and dessert when you buy any main course. "Bring your family, bring your friends, because everyone benefits for the freebies!" they declare online.

Bill's, which specialises in brunch and pancakes, offers GCSE students a free dessert when you order a main course - provided you show staff your results. In addition, kids eat free Monday to Friday all day until September 1. "Whatever lands on your results slip… dessert's looking pretty good," Bill's states online. "Gather your family and friends to celebrate the milestone."

Frankie and Benny's and Las Iguanas deals

Always a popular option among teenagers, the American-Italian-themed Frankie and Benny's restaurants are serving up a free starter and dessert with the purchase of any main meal. Kids also eat free until September 1 if accompanied by an adult ordering a main meal.

Mexican chain, Las Iguanas, is also offering a free starter and dessert with every main meal. "Results Day deserves a celebration," a spokesperson states online. "Whether you're celebrating top marks, finishing exams, or simply making memories with your favourite people, we've got the perfect excuse to get together."

Nando's and Wildwood offers

Another hugely popular choice with teenagers, the self-proclaimed 'Home of Peri-Peri and Flame-Grilled Chicken', Nando's is kindly offering pupils a free quarter chicken or starter when you spend £7 or more.

Italian pizza, pasta and grill specialists, Wildwood, conclude the list that are offering a free starter or dessert as well as a glass of Coke Zero with the purchase of any main meal.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has congratulated students for finishing their GCSEs today - but reminded youngsters that exam results don't mean everything. "Congratulations to everyone getting their GCSE results today, you should be proud of the work that got you here," he wrote on X. "Whatever your results, remember there isn't just one route to success. We're creating more opportunities for young people to choose the path that's right for them, whether that's academic or technical. Every young person should have the chance to fulfil their potential. I'll make sure they do."
