Gap x Victoria Beckham: What to Buy and What to Skip
Gap x Victoria Beckham: What to Buy and What to Skip

The second Gap x Victoria Beckham capsule collection has arrived, featuring 37 pieces designed to complete a winter wardrobe. Following the success of their first collaboration, the two brands have reunited for another round of tailored, polished and wearable everyday clothing.

Shopping Editor Daisy Lester tried on the collection ahead of its launch. The spring collection sold out almost immediately, and this second chapter is described as just as effortlessly elevated yet wearable day to day.

The Collection at a Glance

Victoria Beckham's signature polish has been applied to Gap's recognisable everyday staples. The capsule includes on-trend stirrup leggings, cinched-in outerwear, double-denim looks, form-fitting dresses and cargo-style trousers. Button-up turtlenecks in three colourways pair with utilitarian-style khaki trousers; zip-up knits go with high-waisted, sculpting jeans; and tuxedo-inspired shirts can be styled with form-fitting leggings. Gap's hoodies, T-shirts and joggers have also received the VB treatment.

The colour palette is said to be inspired by the art world, including the Doris and Donald Fisher Collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, with charcoal, warm browns, rich reds and neutrals evoking autumn and winter.

What's Worth Shopping

Among the most affordable pieces are the £25 boxy white tee, the £30 baseball cap and an apparel-style weekender bag. The white T-shirt features a boxy fit, crisp cotton composition and slightly cropped cut, with the Gap x Victoria Beckham logo detailing the back. The relaxed silhouette means you can't see the outline of a bra beneath.

The khaki trousers, at £90, cinch in at the waist thanks to belt detailing before fanning out into a subtle barrel-leg. The £150 funnel neck coat is padded and warm but flattering and lightweight, available in chocolate brown and khaki. A merino wool turtleneck at £95 offers a lightweight, form-fitting design in three neutral colourways.

Denim and Outerwear Picks

The dark denim jeans at £90 feature a subtle barrel leg with a hidden drawstring waist and a low-rise cut. The £70 tuxedo shirt boasts a short stand-up collar, wide cuffs and a fabric panel at the front, ideal for layering. The £275 wool overcoat is crafted from a weighty wool blend in a double-breasted silhouette with dramatic lapels and military-style buttons, available in mauve or charcoal.

The £95 denim latch jacket features an on-trend latch collar and exaggerated shoulders for a boxy fit, with an indigo finish suitable for the office. The £70 stirrup leggings are split-hem skin tight trousers that can be styled with knee-high boots and a Barbour coat for countryside-chic.

The collection ranges from £25 to £270 and is available at Gap.co.uk.
