Fife-based bakery Fisher & Donaldson has opened its first shop in East Lothian at Archerfield Walled Garden, bringing its award-winning treats, including its famous fudge doughnuts, to a new customer base.
Established in 1919, the fifth-generation family firm began with a small store in Cupar and now operates seven shops across Fife and Tayside. The new outlet at Archerfield marks its first foray into East Lothian.
Famous fudge doughnuts and more
The bakery is known for mixing traditional recipes with locally sourced ingredients, offering breads, pastries, savouries, and cakes. Its 'world-famous' fudge doughnuts, often dubbed 'the best in Scotland', are a highlight, along with coffee towers, strawberry tarts, and freshly baked bread.
Fisher & Donaldson joins other independent Scottish suppliers at the newly refurbished Food Market, including Fidra Gin, Luca's Ice Cream, Chocolate Tree, Minato Sushi, and Edinburgh Preserves.
Archerfield Walled Garden destination
The East Lothian destination, popular with families, features a café, lifestyle store, garden shop, 18th century walled gardens, a fairy trail, and a willow walk. The Food Market refurbishment is expected to be completed by autumn, with a new layout and an expanded takeaway range including sandwiches, savouries, soup, salads, and speciality drinks.
