Dusk slashes luxurious velvet bedspread to £41 for autumn
Dusk cuts velvet bedspread to £41 for autumn

Dusk has reduced its Bavaro Velvet Quilted Stitch Detail Bedspread from £55 to £41, offering a rich burnt orange layer that shoppers say warms up bedrooms on chilly nights.

The bedspread features a soft velvet fabric with an all-over quilted stitch, adding texture and a luxurious finish to the bedroom. Its burnt orange shade brings warmth and colour to neutral bedding, making it particularly appealing for autumn and winter while still working as a decorative layer throughout the year.

Generous sizing and design

Generously sized, the Bavaro Velvet Quilted Stitch Detail Bedspread can be draped across the entire bed or folded neatly at the foot for a more polished, hotel-inspired look. It measures 250cm x 260cm and is made of 100% polyester.

Shoppers have rated the bedspread highly, with one saying: "So happy with the quality of this throw. When I first read velvet it put me off, but I’m glad I purchased it and gave it a chance." Another added: "It feels heavy, quilted and expensive. It’s really warmed up my bedroom and will make chilly nights cosy."

Alternatives and care notes

Other options include the OHS Teddy Fleece Throw in rust for £7.50, down from £8 at Online Home Shop, measuring 125 x 150cm. At Dunelm, the Castleton Quilted Bedspread is available for between £40 and £55 in an 'orange umber' tone, made from recycled polyester and velvet.

The manufacturer details explicitly state 'Do not iron', meaning deep storage creases or packing wrinkles cannot easily be pressed out with a standard iron. While the bedspread is machine washable at 30ºC, its heavy velvet construction may not fit comfortably inside smaller, standard-capacity domestic washing machines or tumble dryers, potentially requiring a trip to the launderette.
