Shoppers have praised the Churchgate Scallop Jute Doormat from Dunelm, currently priced at £14.50, down from £29. The discounted price applies to the 40cm x 120cm size, with a 60cm x 90cm option also available at £20.
Design and materials
The mat combines classic jute with a 'beautiful scalloped border' in red, and is described by the retailer as designed to fit wide doorways. It is crafted using durable dyed and undyed natural jute, which is said to be 'perfect for high foot traffic areas'. A plain colourway is also available.
Made from natural fibres and plant-based materials, each mat is unique and may vary in colour. Care instructions advise unrolling the mat and leaving it for 24 hours during first use. To maintain it, shoppers should shake it to remove trapped dirt and debris, and vacuum regularly with a nozzle attachment. Loose fibres should be cut with scissors rather than pulled, and spills should be blotted immediately and spot cleaned with a damp white cloth, avoiding saturating the fibres.
Shopper feedback
The doormat has received an overall average rating of 4.6 out of five stars. One shopper said: "Love this doormat. It's all in the details and this finishes off our kitchen beautifully." A second commented: "This is a perfect doormat. It's stylish and the colour is brilliant." A third added: "I have this doormat in front of my patio doors in the dining area. I also bought the anti-slip mat to ensure it doesn't move about on the Karndean flooring or encroach into the main dining area. It's functional yet slim and attractive, and it fits in perfectly with my colour scheme. Very pleased!"
Some reviewers were more critical. One said: "Nice scalloped edge, so a little unusual. Good size and it fits perfectly. Not sure it is suitable for the main entrance for wiping feet because the weave is flat and not rough enough." Another commented: "Sadly, I had to return it as it wasn't to my expectation. It was very easy to return for a refund to my local store."
