Dunelm's Traditional Patchwork Chenille Rug in 'patchwork natural' has been reduced to £114.50, down from £229, in the brand's clearance sale. The discount represents a 50% saving on the 'excellent quality' rug.
Rug Sizes and Variants
The rug comes in sizes 200cm x 290cm (6.5ft x 9.5ft) and 300cm x 400cm (10ft x 13ft), with the larger size priced at £224.50, down from £449. It is also available in 'patchwork multicoloured' and features a 'gorgeous patchwork design'.
Dunelm says the Traditional Patchwork Chenille Rug will 'add a modern vintage charm to your room', and it has been crafted using soft chenille fibres, making it luxurious under foot. The flatweave, low pile fabric means it is ideal for living rooms and dining rooms, the site says.
Care Instructions and Alternatives
To look after it, the rug should be unrolled and left for 24 hours during first use. Shoppers are advised to vacuum it regularly with a nozzle attachment and cut any loose fibres with scissors, rather than pulling them. For accidental spills, shoppers should blot immediately and spot clean with a damp white cloth and leave to dry. The brand advises using an anti-slip layer underneath the rug to prevent slipping.
As an alternative, Dusk has this Wool Floral Pattern Rug in green for £95, down from £119. The dimensions are 120cm x 170cm, it is made from wool, and it features an intricate floral pattern. At Next, there's the Natural Rowan Oriental Flat Weave Rug for between £110 and £380, depending on size.
Shopper Reviews
The Traditional Patchwork Chenille Rug from Dunelm has been rated a high 4.9 out of five stars overall. One shopper said: "Really happy with the rug, looks better in reality, a nice twist between traditional and modern."
A second person said: "I had been waiting for this rug to come on sale for months and I got it for an absolute bargain price. It looks really classy! I got the extra large size and it has significantly improved the look and feel of my living room - I would always go for a bigger size than what you would think."
Another shopper said: "Excellent quality rug, well worth the money, looks great in (our) house." This person commented: "Bought the second to largest rug. It is very bright and colourful. Works well with table and chairs on it. Good quality and not overpriced."
Another shopper said: "A great quality, good value rug that looks expensive, a bonus for us is that the dog's hair doesn't stick." Another said: "Beautiful rug, very luxurious looking, especially with the under lay rug that I bought to go with it. Looks more expensive than it was, very highly recommended."
One shopper said they plan to buy another, saying: "The pattern and colour scheme of this rug suits our lounge perfectly. Further, we have a Labrador that moults heavily and the hairs are easily hoovered up because of the short pile. We have just had an extension built and plan to buy another."
Another shopper said: "Lovely rug. We're really pleased with it. Colours are great and the thickness is just right." Others left feedback on the need for an anti-slip layer, with one person saying: "Absolutely lovely rug. Quite lightweight, and would need a non-slip under (the) rug (or anchoring with a sofa or lounge chair like we've done). Just different and slightly quirky. Rich reds and greens, and some bluey-green. Looks stunning."
Another person commented: "Whilst the rug looks lively, (has a) nice feel and great colours, it's just too lightweight. It is like laying a blanket on the floor and walking on that. We tried it on carpet, so it might be OK on hard floors... nice looking rug though, shame we had to return it."
