Dunelm has cut the price of its Amber Sheen Rug by 50%, with the stone colourway in the 116cm x 170cm size now available for £32.50 instead of £65.
The rug, which also comes in dusky pink and orange umber, is designed to bring super soft comfort and long-lasting quality to any home, with a low sheen pile that adds a touch of luxury glamour to minimalist interiors.
What sizes and colours are available?
The Amber Sheen Rug in stone was priced at £65 for the 116cm x 170cm (4ft x 5.5ft) size but has been reduced by 50% to £32.50. The larger version, 194cm x 290cm (6.3ft x 9.5ft), is now available for £92.50 instead of £185, while the biggest option, 232cm x 330cm (7.6ft x 10.8ft), costs £132.50 instead of £265.
As well as stone, the rug comes in dusky pink and orange umber. Dunelm suggests unrolling the rug and leaving it for the first 24 hours before using it.
How should the rug be cared for?
To keep the rug in good condition, shake it to remove trapped dirt and debris, and vacuum regularly without the beater brush to prevent damaging the fibres. Any loose fibres can be cut with scissors. For accidental spills, blot immediately and spot clean with a damp white cloth, then leave to dry and shake to fluff up the fibres.
Dunelm also recommends adding an anti-slip underneath, available from £5, to prevent slipping, and rotating the rug every few months to prolong its life.
What other rug deals are available?
Dunelm has also reduced the price of its Sheen Geometric Luxe Rug to £24.50, originally £49, for a 2.5ft by 5ft size. It comes in two colourways with a subtle shimmering effect.
Elsewhere, Dusk's Hand Woven Wool Checkerboard Rug 120cm x 170cm is priced at £53, down from £85, and is described as 'striking yet perfectly harmonious' with a design that combines colour and texture. Sainsbury's Habitat has the Cosy Ivory Rug from £35, a soft shaggy design with a long pile that creates texture in living rooms, bedrooms or anywhere extra softness is needed. The gentle ivory shade fits easily with neutral colour schemes and pairs well with both modern and traditional styles.
What do shoppers think of the Amber Sheen Rug?
The Amber Sheen Rug has an overall star rating of 4.1 out of five based on almost 60 reviews. One satisfied shopper said: "This is exactly as it looks in the picture. Perfect sizing. Bought with the underlay to ensure non slip. Just love it. Delivered without any issues."
A second wrote: "The rug feels really nice and soft. Amber sheen is a lovely colour." A third added: "Absolutely beautiful. I have been looking for this type of rug colour for months and finally found this beautiful rug."
A fourth shopper commented: "I wanted a rug that would match my feature wall. This is perfect. It looks great and is really good quality. I picked it up in the sale. An absolute bargain at 50% off."
One five-star review said: "We love this large rug. It has transformed our lounge, making it more homely and soft to walk on. We chose the colour plum which matches our decor perfectly. Only one criticism is of the delivery driver who left the heavy rug outside, not waiting for me to open the door. I had not accepted it as he reported. Being disabled, I struggled to get it into the house."
Another glowing review read: "I bought this rug because it’s soft with a short pile and therefore not tempting to my cat who destroyed my favourite wool rug. I am very happy with it - gorgeous colour and the texture feels very luxury. It’s priced very fairly too."
Not all feedback was entirely positive. A three-star review said: "This rug is the perfect shade of green that I wanted, as I have other Dunelm rugs and they are great quality I felt quite comfortable purchasing it online. Collection was fairly quick, but I was very disappointed with the thickness of it. Having said that, it is nice and soft underfoot but I don’t know how long it will last."
Another three-star review added: "Lovely rug. Low pile but good quality but shows everything up as navy blue. Looks lovely when just cleaned on wooden floor in front room. Highly recommend a slip mat underneath."
