ARM Furniture Limited, which trades as D&M Furniture in Derby, has entered administration after more than a decade in business. The company, which has been trading since 2013, appointed administrators following proceedings in the High Court of Justice.
Administrators appointed
A notice published in The London Gazette on October 28 confirmed that administrators Andrew J Cordon and James O Everist, of CFS Restructuring LLP, were appointed on October 16. The company's registered office is at 81 Burton Road, Derby, while its principal trading address is listed as the Meteor Centre on Mansfield Road.
The retailer's website has since been taken down, and the administration notice formally confirms the company's insolvency proceedings.
Closing-down sale announcement
The development follows an announcement on the D&M Furniture Derby Facebook page in May, when the retailer revealed plans for a closing-down sale. In a post published on May 22, the business announced: "We are closing down a warehouse and we have 400k of stock to clear. Amazing savings and fast delivery. First come first served!!"
The retailer also promoted discounts across its showroom, telling customers: "Starts Saturday 23rd. Amazing SAVINGS throughout the store plus extra savings on CLEARANCE and STOCK plus FAST delivery!!"
Company background and next steps
D&M Furniture had established itself as a local furniture retailer at the Meteor Centre, offering a range of household furnishings, including living room, dining room and bedroom furniture. The business was registered as ARM Furniture Limited under company number 08595053, although it was better known to local customers by its D&M Furniture trading name.
The appointment of administrators means the company has entered a formal insolvency process. The appointed professionals will be responsible for reviewing its financial position and considering the available options. Further enquiries about the administration can be directed to Andrew Cordon at CFS Restructuring LLP.
