Costa Coffee has opened its first-ever store inside a Cineworld cinema, marking the start of a rollout of 26 new coffee shops across the UK. The new cafe is located at Cineworld Ashton-under-Lyne, within Ashton Moss Leisure Park, and opened this week.
First Cinema Store in Ashton-under-Lyne
The store, which employs 12 baristas, serves the full Costa Coffee range of hot and iced beverages, including Mocha Italia, as well as toasties and sweet snacks. Designed with convenience in mind, the cafe features a modern look and comfortable seating for customers to relax in before or after watching a film.
The opening follows an announcement earlier this year that Costa would replace Starbucks at 26 Cineworld sites across the country. Under a ten-year deal, most of the sites are expected to open by the end of the year.
Rollout to Chester, Glasgow, Sheffield and Birmingham
Costa has confirmed that after the Ashton cafe, the next location will be at Broughton Park in Chester on October 28. Other locations in Glasgow, Sheffield and Birmingham are also among those next to open.

Opening Weekend Celebration

To coincide with the opening, the Ashton-under-Lyne cafe will host an opening weekend celebration on Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25. Across the weekend, people can enjoy complementary samples, while on Saturday a prize wheel will offer the chance to win prizes including gift cards, coffee products and special Costa Coffee and Cineworld merchandise.
The Costa Coffee store at Cineworld Ashton-under-Lyne is open from 12pm to 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 9.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
