Co-op has unveiled its Christmas range for 2026, and I got to try some of the highlights. UK supermarkets have been busy unveiling their Christmas ranges for 2026, and each seems to be going for something different. Tesco is targeting variety, while Sainsbury's is going for at-home luxury, Aldi champions affordability, and Morrisons celebrates traditional and comforting Christmas flavours. When it comes to Co-op, you can expect some innovation and interesting twists on classic festive treats. Think some reinvented mince pies and crisps inspired by Christmas traditions.
Festive snacks take centre stage
I tried some snacks and treats from Co-op, but the supermarket chain has also unveiled some dishes for the main event on December 25, such as meats and sides. However, the real treat, in my view, is the festive snacks you can get on the go, or take home to share with family or friends while watching a Christmas movie.
Alexa Masterhorn, head of product development at Co-op, said: "Our talented product development team has created a range that celebrates what people love about the festive season, enjoying great food and drink in great company."
"We know Christmas can be a busy time, so we’ve focused on making it easier for customers to enjoy delicious food without the fuss. We’re also proud that our range continues to champion British and responsible sourcing because it’s something that matters to our members, customers and the farmers we work with."
Fan-favourite crisps make a comeback
Co-op has an exciting selection of Christmas flavours in the form of crisps. Returning, to the delight of fans, are the Irresistible Pigs in Blanket Crisps. These were among the treats I got to sample, and they were a real delight.
I was quite surprised by how much these crisps actually had that meaty flavour, reminiscent of the classic Christmas side dish. They cost £1.75 for a 150g bag, so they are ideal to share during a cosy movie night.
The other crisp flavours on offer include Irresistible Wagyu Beef & Caramelised Onion, and Irresistible Ultimate Roast Potato Crinkle Cut. The Wagyu flavour is new for this year, while the other two flavours are returning favourites that proved popular last year.
A twist on mince pies
The distinct flavour of a mince pie isn't for everyone, so that's why supermarkets are coming up with new ways for people to enjoy them. Co-op is certainly among the retailers to do this.
I tried the Amaretto & Frangipane Mince Pies, which were pretty impressive. I like mince pies, so I was glad to have the familiarity here, as well as the almond and lemon frangipane topping and flaked almonds.
For people who just really aren't on board with the mince pie flavour, there are the Irresistible Chocolate and Orange Tarts, which are filled with chocolate sauce and Belgian chocolate brownie, topped with chocolate and orange frosting.
Other sweet treats on offer
When some of Co-op's Christmas treats were sampled by colleagues and me in the office, one was an instant hit, leaving people wanting more. The Irresistible Caramelised Blonde Chocolate Peacans had everyone talking.
This unsuspecting treat was a delight for the taste buds. They do pretty much what they say on the tin, with each bag containing caramelised roasted pecans wrapped in silky smooth blonde chocolate.
Meanwhile, the Irresistible White Forest Cherry Flavoured Truffles went down very well. The main component here is the fruity flavour, which is a lovely, nostalgic hit of Christmas. This is then followed up by the smooth milk chocolate, which gives them a lovely, light finish.
