Clarks has launched its first-ever performance walking shoe, the Clarks Pace, designed with input from scientists to provide enhanced support and comfort for walkers. The shoe aims to address the needs of the growing number of people who walk for fitness, offering purpose-built technology rather than running shoe adaptations.
The sole incorporates Infinity Energy Capsules that compress and bounce back with each step, creating a spring-like effect. A dual-layer sole with Clarks' C360 foam adds cushioning and reduces impact on knees and limbs by absorbing shock when the foot strikes the ground. The S-curved moulded heel provides stability and a secure fit, while the C-Tread outsole offers grip on various surfaces.
The upper is made from lightweight, breathable knit materials, and the shoes are available in multiple colourways for both men and women, including black, white, grey, navy, and pastel shades. Clarks' Global Head of Product, Dawn Porto, stated: 'Walking for fitness is on the rise, yet many people are still wearing shoes created for running, which means they're not getting the right support for how their body actually moves. Clarks Pace is our answer to that.'
Priced at £99, Clarks is offering a 20% discount with code 'AFAG20' on purchases over £100 until December 31, making the trainers a potential gift option. The brand, traditionally known for school and work shoes, aims to combine style with advanced walking-specific technology.
