Burger King has launched its first ever Christmas menu, introducing four festive items including the Ultimate Camembert Wagyu, Festive Big King, Festive Whopper and Chocolate Orange Cheesecake. The menu was sampled at the chain's flagship restaurant in London, where the mastermind behind the offering, Flo from Burger King's Food Development Team, was present.
Ultimate Camembert Wagyu leads the festive range
The headlining item is a new addition to the Gourmet Kings Collection. The Ultimate Camembert Wagyu features a flame-grilled 100% British wagyu beef patty with a sweet and tangy tomato cranberry ketchup, truffle black pepper mayo and fresh rocket in a soft brioche bun. The standout element is a golden and crispy camembert patty positioned atop the burger.
The wagyu beef was succulent and practically dissolved on the palate with each smoky mouthful, while the velvety truffle mayo and cranberry ketchup complemented the gooey cheesy patty. The burger earned a 9/10 rating.
Festive Big King and Whopper add twists
The Festive Big King takes the classic Big King and adds five gold onion rings on top. The onion rings introduce a contrasting texture and flavour, earning the burger an 8/10 rating.
The Festive Whopper is also available as a plant-based alternative exclusively via delivery. When placed alongside the other burgers, it felt somewhat understated, but it provided an opportunity to appreciate the zesty cranberry ketchup. The burger received a 7/10.
Chocolate Orange Cheesecake rounds out the menu
The Chocolate Orange Cheesecake was one of the standout items during the tasting. The cheesecake base is soft and crumbly, while the mousse on top is light and airy, complemented by an orange coulis. It earned a 9/10 rating.
