B&M has confirmed the dates for two store closures this August, one for relocation and one for refurbishment. The Carmarthen store will move to a larger site, while the Sunderland store will undergo expansion works.
Carmarthen store relocation
The B&M store on Hall Street in Carmarthen, south-west Wales, will close on Saturday, August 15. It will relocate to a former B&Q building on Glanyrafon Road, with the new Parc Pensam store opening a week later on Saturday, August 22.
The new location is significantly larger and is said to be among Carmarthen's largest retail spaces.
Sunderland store refurbishment
B&M's Hylton Riverside Retail Park store in Sunderland will close for refurbishment on Sunday, August 16. It is set to reopen six days later on August 22.
On its website, B&M apologised for any inconvenience, stating: "In order to complete the final phase, it will be necessary for a closure period." The retailer explained that the expansion works were designed to offer shoppers a "bigger and better B&M experience".
B&M's UK presence
B&M, which offers homeware, groceries, toys, seasonal goods and more, has over 700 stores across the UK. According to its website, the retailer welcomes more than four million customers every week.
Earlier this year, it launched new outlets in locations such as Diss, Norfolk, Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, and Plymstock in Plymouth, Devon. It has also revealed plans for a colossal 13,660 sq ft mega-store in a former Debenhams building at Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling, slated to open later this year.
Established in 1978, B&M boasts a workforce of over 35,000 individuals.
