Best Food and Drink to Bring to Wimbledon 2025

Wimbledon's Food and Drink Policy

The Wimbledon Championships run from Monday 29 June to Sunday 12 July 2025. Spectators are permitted to bring their own food and drink into the grounds, a rare allowance for sporting events. This includes bottles of wine and Champagne, though restrictions apply inside show courts (Centre Court, No. 1 Court, No. 2 Court, No. 3 Court, Court 12, and Court 18). Banned items include hard-sided coolers, picnic hampers, vacuum flasks over 500ml, and hot or strong-smelling foods. Each ticket holder may bring one bag measuring up to 40 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm. Alcohol limits are one bottle of wine or Champagne (750ml) or two cans of beer or cider per person.

Traditional Wimbledon Fare

Strawberries and cream have been served at Wimbledon since 1877, with over 140,000 portions consumed annually. Pimm's, a fruity gin-based liqueur, is the signature drink, while Champagne from official sponsor Lanson is also popular. Afternoon tea featuring scones, clotted cream, jam, tea, and finger sandwiches is a classic choice. Spectators often bring finger sandwiches, quiches, sausage rolls, Scotch eggs, and salads.
