The Bay Horse pub in Whickham is set to undergo a major refurbishment, thanks to a 'major investment' from its owner, Greene King. The pub will temporarily close its doors on Monday, October 26, to allow for both internal and external changes, before reopening in November.
Refurbishment Details
The pub, located on Front Street in the Gateshead village, is described as a 'popular choice for friends, families, and sports fans'. It offers a range of food and drink to 'suit all occasions', including refreshments at lunchtime and the chance to watch football matches on Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
The improvements will include work to the upstairs function room, which will be renamed The Hayloft, so it can be used to host events such as big sporting occasions, birthdays, or baby showers. The traditional bar and dining areas downstairs, along with the toilets, will also be refurbished.
Booking and Staffing
Customers with the Greene King app can browse the menu and book ahead for when the pub reopens, with more details available on the website. The Bay Horse is also looking for more members of staff to join the kitchen and bar teams, offering both full-time and part-time opportunities.
