Asda Opens George Store in Barnsley This Week

Asda is set to open a new 28,000 square foot standalone George store at Cortonwood Retail Park in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, on Thursday, July 9. The store will stock fashion and homeware, including clothing for women, men, and children, as well as bedding, dining essentials, bathroom accessories, home décor, and seasonal items.

Sixth Standalone George Store

This will be the sixth standalone George branch launched by Asda, following the closure of the existing Asda Living store at the same retail park on June 28 to facilitate the transformation. The new concept store brings together Asda's fashion and home ranges under one roof.

Enhanced Shopping Experience

Customers will benefit from refurbished fitting rooms, additional self-service checkouts, and a faster parcel collection service for online orders. Karl Doyle, Vice President of George, said: "We're excited to bring our latest standalone George store concept to South Yorkshire and give local customers an even better way to shop our fashion and home collections. This investment in Barnsley reflects our commitment to continuing to grow the George brand and enhancing the experience we offer customers."
