Amazon Now, the ultra-fast delivery service that launched in London earlier this year, has expanded to Greater Manchester, making it the first city outside the capital to benefit. The service, which launched in the summer, delivers groceries and household essentials in 30 minutes or less to selected postcodes in Central and East Manchester, Salford and Stockport.
Service details and availability
The service is available seven days a week through the Amazon app and website, offering thousands of products across 35 categories. Customers in eligible Manchester postcodes can shop from a wide selection of items, including everyday essentials like milk, eggs, fresh fruit and veg, toothpaste, pet treats, nappies, medicines, and more, alongside local favourites from Kellogg’s, PG Tips, and Warburtons.
You don't need to be an Amazon Prime member to use the service, but Prime members benefit from cheaper deliveries. Prime members get discounted delivery fees starting at £1.99 per order (£3.99 for non-Prime members) and free delivery on orders over £20. A £2 fee applies to all orders under £15, regardless of membership.
Halloween treats and reduced prices
For those in need of sweets for trick or treaters this Halloween, some products have been reduced, including the Swizzels Scrumptious Mixed Bag down to £2.43 and the Swizzels Sweet Shop Favourites retro tub down to £4.73.
Amazon Now uses a network of micro fulfilment centres that are 'strategically positioned' near residential and inner-city areas, with sites in East Manchester, Salford and Stockport.
