Aldi has announced plans to open seven new stores in November, creating up to 210 jobs across the UK. The supermarket chain said on Monday, October 26, that the new outlets will open across England throughout the month, including two in London with up to 30 roles at each site.
The openings are part of Aldi's £370 million investment in its UK estate this year. The retailer is working towards a long-term ambition of operating 1,500 stores nationwide.
Growth plans and local jobs
Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: "Demand for new Aldi stores remains strong, and we want more shoppers to be able to enjoy our high-quality products at low prices."
"Opening seven stores in November is another big step in our growth plans. It will create hundreds of local jobs and bring Aldi's value to thousands more shoppers across the country," he added.
The announcement follows Aldi's annual trading update earlier this month, which outlined further store investment, continued price cuts, and more long-term agreements with British suppliers.
Financial performance
The German-owned chain reported operating profits down 1% at £432.9 million in 2025, against earnings of £435.5 million the previous year. Investment in prices and a rising wage bill offset a 5% increase in sales.
Pre-tax profits dipped by 3.8% to £400.5 million for the year. Turnover lifted to a record £19 billion.
Expansion plans
Aldi already operates 1,092 shops across the UK and Ireland. It said it would open another 40 stores in 2027 as part of a £900 million record investment plan for next year.
The business has previously stated it wants to reach 1,500 shops across the UK, with a drive to "focus on communities cut off from affordable groceries due to lack of local choice or competition".
In September, the UK's fourth largest grocery chain said it was opening 30 new stores over the next 10 weeks alone as it ramps up its expansion programme.
