Aldi has announced plans to open 16 new stores across the UK over the coming months, with four of them located in London. The supermarket chain, which already operates more than 1,000 branches in the UK, is continuing its aggressive expansion strategy.
New London Locations
The four new London stores will be in Orpington, Hoxton, Marble Arch, and Watford. These sites are part of Aldi's long-term goal to reach 1,500 stores across the UK.
Expansion Plans
In January, Aldi stated it aims to open around 40 new stores in 2026 as part of its growth strategy. The latest announcement follows the opening of a store in Salford Quays last month, with the company investing £370 million in new stores this year.
Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: “At Aldi, we’re committed to making high-quality, affordable food accessible to everyone, which is why we continue to invest in expanding our store network across the UK.”
He added: “Our £370 million investment in new stores this year will help us bring Aldi’s unbeatable value to even more communities, supporting local economies through our industry-leading pay for colleagues.”
