Aldi is releasing a new gadget this weekend that promises to speed up laundry drying times while reducing the risk of mould and condensation. The Ambiano 12L Midi Dehumidifier will be available as part of the supermarket's new 'Home Heating Essentials' collection, which arrives in stores on Sunday, October 18.
The £44.99 appliance is designed to protect homes from excess moisture while accelerating drying times. Standard indoor air-drying often leaves clothes damp for days, raising relative humidity levels and increasing the risk of structural damp, condensation, and mould growth.
How the gadget improves drying times
Consumer testing has shown that using a dehumidifier can dry wet fabrics up to twice as fast as traditional ambient air drying. By actively extracting water vapour from both the wet clothes and the surrounding air, the appliance increases the rate of natural evaporation.

The Ambiano model features a high-capacity compressor system that extracts up to 12 litres of moisture per day, with a two-litre internal water reservoir. For continuous, unattended use, the unit includes an integrated drainage hose option.
Additional technical features include a modern touch-screen control display, adjustable humidity sensors, and a programmable 24-hour timer.
Tips for maximum efficiency
To maximise efficiency, experts recommend placing the clothes airer and the appliance together inside a small, closed room to trap the dry air. Directing the air vents straight toward the wet fabrics enhances circulation.

The supermarket is also selling a Bladeless Fan Heater for £50.
