Aldi is introducing a new rule in its UK stores from August 27, limiting customers to three bottles of its viral Le Grand Poulet Rose Magnum per person. The move comes as the budget retailer drops the price of the 150cl bottle, known as 'Chicken Wine', to £9.99.
Deal runs until September 2
The promotion starts next Thursday, August 27, and continues through to September 2, while stock lasts. The supersized bottle is equivalent to two standard bottles and has become a fan favourite this summer, with shoppers flooding Aldi's social media pages with excitement since it first appeared on shelves.
The magnum first landed in Aldi stores nationwide last month at £11.99, meaning customers will save £2 if they purchase from next Thursday. The retailer is bringing it under £10 for the first time after it won over both everyday shoppers and wine experts, including Mistress of Wine Sam Capcorn, who called it a "gorgeous magnum" and "even more of a winner" on Instagram.
Fan reaction and product details
Its launch followed the hugely popular Le Petit Poulet Rosé, which had already built a devoted following among rosé lovers. Customers were filled with excitement when the supersized version was announced, with fans commenting on Aldi's Instagram page with messages like 'Oh, this is what I'm talking about', and 'Rosé all the way'.
The pale peach-pink rosé offers bright aromas of citrus fruits and red berries, with a crisp, light and dry finish perfect for summer get-togethers. The standard 75cl Le Petit Poulet Rosé is also available at £6.29.
The budget supermarket may not restock the product at this price, so customers should act quickly when the deal begins.
