Aldi's Lacura Golden Solstice Eau de Parfum, priced at £6.99 for 100ml, has been compared by shoppers to Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess Eau de Parfum, which costs £68. The new seasonal scent, launched in July, is 91% cheaper than the designer version.
Perfume test
Samantha Bartlett, Assistant Editor for Social News, tested the fragrance after being sent a bottle. She found it blends creamy coconut, frangipani, soft florals like lily, and a warm amber base, creating a summery scent she describes as a great dupe for the designer version.
While some online reviewers claim the scent lasts only 30 minutes, Bartlett found the opposite, noting it remained on her skin even after washing. She also disagreed with complaints that the bottle and packaging look cheap, saying it would look stylish on a dressing table.
Other Lacura products
Bartlett admitted she would still choose the Estée Lauder perfume if given the choice, but recommends the Aldi option for those on a budget or looking for an everyday scent.
Aldi is also reintroducing its Lacura Elara Eau de Parfum (£6.99, 100ml), which offers savings of 88% (£50) compared to Kylie Jenner's Cosmic scent. It features soft, sensual notes of amber and delicate florals, settling into a warm vanilla base.
Haircare range returns
The Lacura Wonder Haircare collection returns to stores from 26th July. The Lacura Wonder Fix (£2.99, 12ml) is a precision styling wand with panthenol and Jojoba Wax to tame flyaways and add shine.
