£1.89 B&M cleaner beats Viakal for limescale removal

A bathroom cleaner costing £1.89 from B&M has been found to remove limescale more effectively than Viakal, according to a tester who tried both products. The Flash Bathroom cleaner, priced at £1.89 for a 500ml bottle at B&M and £2.44 for an 800ml bottle from Asda, promises to remove up to 100% of bathroom grime and limescale.

Cheaper alternative to Viakal

Viakal's Classic Limescale Remover costs £2.89 for a 500ml bottle at B&M and £4.98 for a 1050ml bottle from Asda. The tester said the Flash product comes in a bottle nearly identical to Viakal's and is simple to use, with instructions recommending leaving the solution on the limescale area for up to five minutes.

Easy application and results

To use the product, spray the nozzle to cover the affected area and leave it for the recommended time. After wiping it away with a damp cloth, the tester found much of the limescale was lifted from bathroom taps. They then scrubbed with a sponge to ensure all the limescale was removed, reporting that the taps looked considerably better and that plenty of limescale had shifted.

The tester noted the product does all the hard work, making results easy to achieve. In contrast, they said past use of Viakal left limescale deposits still covering their taps.

For the tester, Flash's cleaner is the best product on the market and is what they rely on to tackle limescale build-ups at home.
