Welsh events firm faces winding up petition

Climax Promotions and Events Limited, the company behind the In It Together Festival in Margam, is facing a legal bid to force it into liquidation.

A petition to wind up the business was sent to the High Court of Justice on September 7 by Premium Credit Limited, which claims to be a creditor of the company. The official notice has been published.

Company Background and Financial Issues

Climax Promotions and Events Ltd has been operating since 2020, according to Companies House. Earlier in 2026, the Newport-based company was criticised for leaving other Welsh businesses out of pocket after using facilities without paying for them.

ITV News Wales reported in February that venues in Caerphilly, Abergele, and Holyhead were not paid thousands of pounds after Climax Promotions and Events Limited – which also operates under the name Escape Records – held Halloween and Christmas events at those venues. Some unpaid amounts were settled out of court after Abergele's Gwyrch Castle pursued the company for an unpaid bill of £2,500.

Festival Future Secured

Despite the legal action, In It Together is still planned to take place in 2027, with acts such as Razorlight, JLS, and Pendulum already announced. Tickets are on sale for the event, scheduled for May 28 to May 30 next year. The event is now being run by Festivals Group UK.

The festival, described as Wales' biggest family festival, is held at Old Park Farm in Margam and has attracted thousands of festival-goers over the last three years, with headlining acts including Two Door Cinema Club, Rag'n'Bone Man, and Dizzee Rascal.

A statement from current organisers Festivals Group UK assured ticketholders that the Margam event, In It Together, as well as the Together Again music festival in Cheshire, will go ahead as planned in 2027.

The statement said: "From 2027 In It Together and Together Again will move forward under new ownership with Festivals Group UK."

"Festivals Group UK is an established UK promoter with more than 20 years of industry experience and a track record of delivering multiple events and festivals across the country."

"Festivals Group UK intends not just to preserve the existing festivals but to provide both events with a stable and sustainable platform for the future."

It added: "All existing 2027 customer tickets will be honoured and both festivals are planned to go ahead as scheduled. The first phase line-ups have already been announced with headliner announcements due shortly."
