Multiple Food Recalls Issued by Major UK Supermarkets

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued several "do not eat" notices covering items stocked in Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, and Waitrose. Products being pulled from shelves include pasta, crisps, fruit, chutney, and hot cross buns due to potential health risks such as salmonella, undeclared allergens, and metal fragments.

Morrisons Coronation Chicken Pasta Recalled Due to Undeclared Milk

Morrisons has recalled its Coronation Chicken Pasta (230g) because some packs may contain Florida Salad, leading to undeclared milk on the label. This poses a serious health risk to anyone with a milk allergy or intolerance. The affected packs have a use-by date of June 30 and batch code GBB 584 031. Customers are advised not to eat the product and return it to any Morrisons store for a full refund without a receipt.

Morrisons Maple & Bacon Crisps Recalled for Undeclared Milk

Morrisons is also recalling its Maple & Bacon Back of the Net crisps (140g packs) with a best-before date of August 22. Due to a packaging error, the crisps may contain undeclared milk. A Morrisons spokesperson said: "Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don't need a receipt. No other products are affected by this issue. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety."

Morrisons Savers Cashews Recalled Due to Possible Glass

Morrisons has pulled its Savers Cashews (125g packs) from shelves due to the possible presence of glass. Affected best-before dates include August 9, September 6, September 26, September 28, and October 9. A Morrisons spokesperson reiterated the same refund policy and apology.

Fruit Recalled Across Multiple Supermarkets Due to Salmonella

Prepworld is recalling several fruit packets sold at Morrisons, Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Waitrose after testing revealed salmonella in apples and kiwi fruits. Symptoms of salmonella include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. The affected products and their use-by dates are:

  • Asda Pink Lady Apple, Mango, Strawberry & Blueberry – June 23 and 24
  • Morrisons Kiwi, Melon & Strawberries – June 24
  • Tesco Melon, Kiwi & Strawberry – June 24
  • Tesco Kiwi Fruit Pot – June 24
  • Waitrose Pink Lady Apple and Grapes – June 23
  • Sainsbury's Melon, Kiwi & Strawberry – June 23
  • Sainsbury's Orange & Kiwi – June 23
  • Sainsbury's Pink Lady Apple & Grape – June 23
  • Tesco Fruit Kebabs – June 23
  • Tesco Melon, Kiwi & Strawberry – June 23 and 24

An FSA spokesperson warned: "The possible presence of Salmonella in the products listed above. Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should stay away from work, school, or nursery until you have stopped having symptoms for at least 48 hours to avoid passing it on to others. If you have bought any of the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund."

Arran Chutney Recalled Due to Metal Fragments

Fox's Burton's Companies (FBC) UK has issued a recall for Arran Fine Foods Caramelised Red Onion Chutney, sold at Tesco and Sainsbury's, due to possible metal fragments. The affected batches include 195g packs with best-before dates from November 25, 2028 to February 3, 2029, and 1.35kg packs with best-before dates from April 28, 2027 to August 17, 2027. Customers are urged not to consume the product and return it to stores for a full refund.

Waitrose Hot Cross Buns Recalled Due to Undeclared Barley

Waitrose & Partners is recalling its Four Richly Fruited Hot Cross Buns because the product contains barley, which is not listed on the label. Anyone with a barley allergy should not consume the buns and return them to the shop for a full refund without a receipt.
