Neville firm plans Manchester hotel and apartment towers

Relentless Developments, the firm co-founded by Gary Neville, has submitted a scoping report to Manchester council for a new development at St Mary's Parsonage, next to the River Irwell. The proposal includes two towers with a hotel, apartments, and offices.

Details of the Proposed Towers

The scheme would see two towers built in the city, standing 35 and 46 storeys tall. They would contain 172 hotel rooms, 434 apartments, and eight floors of offices. The development would be located at St Mary's Parsonage in the city centre, near Deansgate.

The proposal includes the demolition of the existing Cardinal House building. The scoping report is an initial step ahead of a full planning application being made for the council to consider.

Location and Connectivity

The scoping report highlights the site's accessibility, noting it is a short distance from the Spinningfields business district, Deansgate, and Manchester's primary commercial core. It states that St Mary's Parsonage connects directly to Bridge Street (A34), providing access to the wider city centre highway network. The surrounding area comprises a mixture of modern office buildings, commercial premises, and high-quality public realm spaces.

Project Timeline and Background

If approved by the council, construction of the schemes could be completed between 2031 and 2034. Relentless Developments was founded by Gary Neville and Anthony Kilbride. The company has led a range of projects in Manchester, including Hotel Football and St Michael's, a five-star hotel experience in the city opening in 2027. Relentless Developments was approached for comment.
