Coldplay Kiss Cam CEO Sells Manhattan Apartment for $5.8M After Scandal
Kiss Cam CEO sells Manhattan flat for $5.8M post-scandal

The chief executive at the centre of a viral Coldplay kiss cam scandal has discreetly sold his luxury Manhattan apartment for $5.8 million, four months after the incident that cost him his job.

The Incident That Started It All

Andy Byron, the 51-year-old former CEO of Astronomer, found himself at the centre of unwanted attention during a Coldplay concert in Boston, Massachusetts back in July. Video footage captured Byron in what appeared to be an intimate embrace with his 53-year-old married HR boss, Kristin Cabot, when the couple were unexpectedly featured on the stadium's 'kiss cam'.

The awkward moment didn't escape the notice of Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin, who called out the pair from the stage, unwittingly turning a private moment into a very public scandal.

The Aftermath and Property Sale

In the wake of the controversy, Byron was forced to step down from his position as CEO of the company he led. Now, property records reveal he and his wife Megan have quietly sold their four-bedroom Tribeca mansion for $5.8 million.

The luxury full-floor condominium, which the couple had purchased just three years earlier from the building's developer for $5.4 million, never officially hit the public market. According to documents filed with New York City's Department of Finance, the new owners - identified as corporate lawyers - signed the purchase contract in mid-September, with the deal finalised by early November.

The impressive property featured four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and an expansive open kitchen complete with wine refrigerator. The master suite boasted a walk-in closet, adding to the apartment's luxurious appeal.

Relationship Status and Moving On

Despite the very public embarrassment, property records indicate that Andy and Megan Byron remain legally married. The documents show they've since relocated to Massachusetts, though Megan has switched to using her maiden name Kerrigan on social media and reportedly left the couple's marital home in Northborough.

In a surprising development late in September, the couple were spotted together during relaxed outings near their coastal hideaway in Maine. Observers noted they both still wore their wedding bands as they enjoyed a cosy sunset picnic at the beach, seated on deck chairs with sweaters warming their knees against the sea breeze.

Meanwhile, sources close to Kristin Cabot have insisted there was 'no affair' between her and Byron, claiming the only 'inappropriate' behaviour was their very public hug. An unnamed source told People magazine: 'Kristin and Andy had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair.'

The source acknowledged that Cabot accepted 'full responsibility' for the 'inappropriate' embrace but argued that her subsequent job loss and public shaming as a 'homewrecker' had been 'unfair'.

Adding further complexity to the story, sources revealed that Cabot's husband, Andrew Cabot - chief executive of Privateer Rum and member of the elite Cabot family with an estimated $15 billion fortune - was actually at the same Coldplay concert with another woman, now his girlfriend. The Cabots had reportedly been 'separated and living apart for several weeks' before the concert.

Kristin Cabot resigned from Astronomer just days after Byron's departure and filed for divorce from her estranged husband in August, though the former couple requested the records be kept private.

The sale of the Byrons' Manhattan apartment marks the latest chapter in a saga that began with a single, unguarded moment at a concert, demonstrating how quickly personal lives can become public property in the digital age.
