Katie Price's Mucky Mansion Transformed by New Owner After Cut-Price Sale

The new owner of Katie Price's former 'cursed' Mucky Mansion has dramatically transformed the property after purchasing it at a reduced price. The nine-bedroom manor house in West Sussex was repossessed and sold for £1.15 million in December 2024 after Price failed to keep up with mortgage payments. The home had fallen into serious disrepair, with piles of rubbish strewn across the grounds.

Northern Irish furniture boss James Mercer is reportedly behind the renovation. Aerial photos show scaffolding around the house, with a new roof, doors, windows and exterior walls already in place. A neighbour told the Mail: 'The new owners had their work cut out as it was in such a state. They would have been tempted to knock it down and start again. But they clearly know what they're doing and when it's finished, the house is going to look exceptional.'

Price, 47, had previously described the property as 'cursed' and said living there caused her anxiety and panic attacks. She told her podcast: 'It is absolutely cursed. My anxiety got worse with that house. There was a point when I couldn't even walk up the driveway without having a panic attack. I had therapy about the house.'

Her daughter Princess Andre, 18, also recalled negative experiences, saying: 'It was a really scary house. A lot went on there. So I didn't really like it.' Price also claimed the mansion was haunted, alleging a 'boy ghost' attached to her son Jett prevented him from entering his bedroom.

Meanwhile, Price has defended herself against criticism that her current rented home—for which she pays £4,500 a month—is becoming another Mucky Mansion after aerial photos showed rubbish outside. She said on Instagram: 'After the Christmas break, there were a few bags and leftover boxes that hadn't been collected yet, it was simply Christmas waste... It's been cleared up now.'
