Jeremy Clarkson's Neighbour's Farm for Sale at £3.85m

Foxglove Farm, the property next to Jeremy Clarkson's famous Diddly Squat Farm, has been listed for sale with Knight Frank at £3.85 million. The eight-bedroom stone farmhouse sits on more than nine acres of land near Chadlington in the Cotswolds, adjacent to Clarkson's farm and about a mile from his farm shop.

Clarkson's Cotswolds Empire

Clarkson purchased his 1,000-acre farm in 2008 and began personally managing it in 2019, documenting the experience in his Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm, which has been renewed for a sixth season. He grows winter wheat, durum wheat, spring barley, and oilseed rape, and has replaced the original farmhouse with an Arts and Crafts-style mansion featuring tennis courts and an outdoor pool.

In 2020, Clarkson opened Diddly Squat Farm Shop, followed by a restaurant that closed after a year due to a planning dispute with Oxfordshire council. He also purchased a pub in nearby Burford for £810,000 in 2024, renaming it The Farmer's Dog.

Neighbourly Tensions

Clarkson's ventures have stirred local controversy. In 2023, he noted division among villagers regarding the farm shop's popularity. “The farm shop is over a mile from the village so it's of no consequence, really, to the people who hate me,” he said. “If they've got a house name, they tend not to like us, because they tend to have moved here from London quite recently, and they don't want crowds of people coming to the farm shop.”

Planning issues persist. In 2023, Clarkson gained permission to expand the shop's car park for three years, but in April he applied to extend this to December 2030, citing sustained visitor demand. The application remains under review.

Foxglove Farm Features

Foxglove Farm includes the main stone farmhouse, a two-car garage, two stables, and a detached cottage. The land comprises a paddock, orchard, and landscaped gardens. Built in 1954, the 4,245-square-foot farmhouse has been modernised and nearly doubled in size, featuring a stone floor, farmhouse sink, and earthy palette. Upstairs are five bedrooms with countryside views, plus a spiral wine cellar holding over 600 bottles. The detached cottage offers two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a vaulted-ceiling living room.

Harry Sheppard of Knight Frank commented: “Foxglove Farm has been enjoyed by a multigenerational London and Oxfordshire-based family, who have also let out the annexe over the years. It is a perfect entry-level smallholding, with the land having been home to animals including goats, sheep and horses. The family are not using it as much as in previous years, as children grow up and are drawn back to London, and are now ready to pass it on to a new owner.”
