Aldi is launching a supersized version of its popular French rosé, Le Petit Poulet Rosé, which has become a customer favourite and drawn comparisons to the viral 'Chicken Wine' – La Vieille Ferme. The new Le Grand Poulet Rosé Magnum contains 1.5 litres (150cl), equivalent to two standard 75cl bottles, and will retail at £11.99. This offers a more affordable option than buying two standard bottles, which typically cost between £7 and £9 each at other supermarkets.
Availability and Pricing
The magnum bottle lands in Aldi stores nationwide on July 6. Aldi hopes the supersized version will be a hit with wine lovers this summer, especially for barbecues, garden parties, and family gatherings. The supermarket stated: 'Defined by its freshness, character and Provencal spirit, the viral sensation is on shelves – and it's bigger than ever.'
Wine Characteristics
Aldi described the wine as delicate and pale peach-pink in colour, with refreshing aromas of citrus fruits and red berries. It is a light, dry rosé that is crisp on the palate, making it ideal for summer drinking. Excited shoppers have already expressed enthusiasm on Aldi's Instagram page, with comments such as 'Oh, this is what I'm talking about!' and 'Rosé all the way!'
Award-Winning Wine Range
Aldi also highlighted its internationally award-winning wines from £4.99, after securing more than 50 medals at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) and International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in June. Judged blind by wine experts, the awards recognise outstanding quality regardless of brand or price. Winners include the Specially Selected Chilean Viognier (£4.99), Chilean Pinot Noir Reserva (£5.99), Chilean Merlot Reserva (£6.99), Stellenbosch Shiraz (£7.49), Picpoul de Pinet (£7.99), Chilean Sauvignon Blanc (£7.19), Castellore Organic Prosecco Rosé DOC (£7.99), Jolie by Juliette Coteaux de Béziers Rosé (£7.69), and Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut (£15.99).
