Celtic have confirmed that Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham have agreed new contracts with the club, with Stephen McManus continuing his role in Martin O'Neill's coaching team. The Scottish Premiership champions announced the news on Friday morning after weeks of negotiations.
Wage Cut Talks Resolved
The Double-winning coaches had been locked in talks with Hoops chiefs for weeks after initially rejecting significant wage cuts. O'Neill made it clear to the hierarchy that he wants both of his trusted lieutenants on board for the new season.
Assistant Maloney and first-team coach Fotheringham both played integral roles in helping Celtic to an unlikely league and Scottish Cup Double. With the champions set to return for pre-season training on Friday, it has been announced that the popular pair will remain part of O'Neill's backroom staff.
