Tyson Fury has reiterated his firm stance on inheritance, insisting his children must earn their own wealth despite gifting his teenage daughter and her husband £5 million for their wedding. The boxing champion, whose net worth is estimated at £148 million, has previously stated he wants his seven children to build their own lives without relying on his fortune.
Fury and his wife Paris presented the seven-figure sum to 16-year-old Venezuela and her new husband Noah Price, 19, after their wedding last weekend. The couple also had their £30,000 Marbella honeymoon funded by Fury. However, the heavyweight star has maintained a strict policy on handing down his wealth, which he has previously claimed includes £200 million in the bank.
In December 2024, Fury explained his philosophy: 'I want my kids to get their own money, do their own things and be their own people. I don't believe in just giving all your money to your kids because it will make them weak, spoiled and not value anything.' He added that hard work, dedication and sacrifice are essential for personal growth.
Fury said he would help his children with business deals and investments but would not give them an easy life. He contrasted buying a son a Lamborghini with earning a used car, saying the latter would be more appreciated. 'If he works hard and gets himself a 2004 Corsa, he will be outside washing it every day. And I will be proud of him because he has done it himself,' Fury said.
The wedding took place at a chapel near Douglas on the Isle of Man, with a reception at the Comis Hotel and Golf Club where singer Peter Andre performed. The newlyweds are expected to move into a new static home in East Yorkshire after their honeymoon. A source told The Sun that some family members had mixed feelings about the £5 million gift, but it was described as 'the gypsy way – go big'.
