Nationwide Building Society customers should monitor their accounts closely as the mutual prepares to distribute its fourth annual Fairer Share bonus. Starting this week, millions of eligible members will receive a £100 payment as part of the scheme, which rewards loyal customers with a share of the society's profits.
Who Qualifies for the £100 Payment?
To be eligible, customers must hold a current account with Nationwide alongside either a mortgage or a savings account. Additionally, certain account activity criteria must have been met in recent months. More than four million people are expected to receive the bonus this year, marking the fourth consecutive year of the payout.
Nationwide has been notifying eligible members since May 21. However, some customers have expressed confusion about the process. One member took to social media asking how to confirm their eligibility, stating they had not received any notification despite hoping for the payment.
How to Check Your Eligibility
Nationwide advised that members can verify their status through several methods:
- Use the chat service in the Nationwide banking app or internet bank.
- Access the eligibility checker on the Nationwide website.
- Review the full terms and conditions on the society's website.
The eligibility checker involves answering a series of multiple-choice questions. Once completed, it will indicate whether the customer qualifies based on their responses.
Payment Dates and Resolving Issues
For those confirmed as eligible, payments will be made between June 10 and June 30, 2026. The £100 will be deposited directly into the customer's Nationwide current account.
One customer reported that the eligibility checker indicated they qualified, but they had not yet received the payment. In response, Nationwide reiterated the payment window and assured that all eligible members would be paid within that timeframe.
Customers who believe they are eligible but have not received the bonus by the end of June should contact Nationwide for further assistance.
