Manchester Airport currently has 27 job openings, including roles in security, hospitality and IT, as well as some management positions. The airport is the third-busiest in the UK, connecting passengers in the north of England to more than 200 destinations across the globe.
At the start of the summer period, the airport predicted that more than 5.7 million passengers would fly in and out of the airport between Friday, July 17 and the end of the holidays on September 1. More than 19 million passengers pass through Manchester Airport every year, and bosses say there are around 19,000 people employed directly on-site.
Community Engagement Manager
Location: On site at Manchester Airport. Employment type: Permanent, part time - three days a week.
Key aspects of the role include delivering relevant aspects of the Group Sustainability Strategy at an airport level and developing and informing airport community programmes. The role also involves working with external stakeholders to deliver community support projects, including airport volunteering and delivering airport community consultations, so that the reputation of MAG's airports is promoted and protected.
The manager will deliver the implementation of community mitigation schemes including the sound insulation grant scheme and vortex damage, and the community trust fund. They will also support formal engagement with key community stakeholders through forums and airport consultative committees, and represent the airport at community events in the towns and villages close to the airport.
Head of Architecture and Hospitality Host
Location: Hybrid, two days a week onsite at Manchester Airport. Employment type: Permanent, full time.
The Head of Architecture will define and evolve CAVU's architecture strategy, ensuring technology decisions align with business objectives, customer needs and long-term platform scalability. They will provide technical leadership across cloud and solution architecture, driving the adoption of modern architectural patterns and engineering best practices, and lead architecture reviews and technical governance activities.
The role also involves establishing and maintaining architectural standards, principles and technology roadmaps across the organisation, championing modern cloud-native approaches and supporting the ongoing evolution of CAVU's technology platforms. The post holder will guide the architectural direction of Propel and associated products, work closely with engineering teams to evaluate solution designs, technical approaches and implementation strategies, and support the successful delivery of new platform capabilities, integrations and international implementations.
Hospitality Host: Location: On site at Manchester Airport. Employment type: Fixed term contract until 31 October 2026, 40 hours per week. Salary: £13.45 per hour.
The Hospitality Host will provide a meet and greet service to users of the Lounges, dealing courteously and efficiently to ensure a world class level of customer service. They will ensure lounge facilities are maintained to a high standard and consistently presented in line with the Standards of Operations, and maintain accurate records of all Lounge customers including consolidators, direct bookings and airline customers.
The role also involves taking monies, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with the product directions and the alcohol licence, and assisting with clearing and organising the lounge ensuring a high standard of hygiene in the preparation, service and guest areas. The host will maintain stock levels, date and rotation and replenish food and beverage buffet service in the lounge, dispose of waste including recycling in the appropriate manner, and provide assisted service to guests during their stay with business services.
Hospitality Chef and Health and Safety Manager
Location: On site at Manchester Airport. Employment type: Both permanent and temporary contracts are available, with options for 16, 30 and 40 hours per week. Salary: £14.79 per hour.
The Hospitality Chef will follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing and cooking all varieties of foods, operate a variety of kitchen equipment, and prepare foods to be cooked, including washing, peeling, cutting and shredding. They will maintain the food offering ensuring presentation meets operating standards, maintain stock levels, receive delivery of supplies, ensure stored correctly, rotate and maintain, and ensure floors are swept and mopped or vacuumed, and equipment is cleaned, sanitised and stored correctly.
The role also involves disposing of waste including recycling in the appropriate manner, liaising with subcontracted suppliers, Airline representatives, handling agents and booking agents, and assisting in one-to-one training of new staff, including subcontracted supplier staff.
Health and Safety Manager - Property: Location: Manchester Airport with regular travel across the MAG Group airport campuses. Employment type: Permanent.
The Health and Safety Manager will manage all aspects of health, safety and fire (HS&F) legislation and regulations for buildings within the Property commercial portfolio across Manchester, East Midlands and Stansted Airports. They will develop, review and maintain HS&F management systems ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, regulations and MAG Group HS&F standards and frameworks that relate to the Property building portfolio.
The role involves ensuring regular HS&F inspections are in place and carrying out HS&F risk assessments, fire evacuation drills and managing the legionella risk assessments, asbestos re-inspections for the relevant properties and preparing action plans to mitigate risks to support safe and compliant premises. The manager will work closely with the Head of FM (Property) to review and comment on MAG Group HS&F policy, procedures and governance frameworks, conduct GAP analysis and submit findings and recommendations, and represent Property at both internal and external HS&F audits.
Head of Trading
Location: Hybrid. Employment type: Permanent.
The Head of Trading will lead the strategy and implementation for revenue management for London Stansted Airport car parks. They will be accountable for the creation and execution of optimal pricing strategies that achieve and exceed the business plan.
The role represents STN car parks at the CAVU Trade SLT, leads the commercial narrative on STN performance to CAVU SLT and STN Airport Commercial and Finance Directors. The post holder leads a small revenue management team (one Revenue Manager plus shared analyst resource) while partnering closely with the wider CAVU Commerce function, who own channel, marketing and distribution to ensure the successful delivery of business plan expectations.
