Nike running trainers priced under £50 have been praised by shoppers who say they are 'genuinely the most comfortable shoes (they've) ever worn'. The Men's Nike Revolution 8 Road Running Shoes are now down to £47 from £59.99 on Sports Direct, and they are designed for everyday runs.
Features and Design
The shoes, available in sizes 6 to 14 and a variety of colours, combine a lightweight, breathable upper with cushioning designed to make everyday movement more comfortable. The mesh upper allows air to circulate around the feet, while the foam midsole and cushioned outsole provide support and comfort with every step.
This makes them a practical option for regular road runs, as well as lower-intensity activities such as gym sessions and walks. The shoes have a 10mm heel drop and are classed as an everyday running shoe designed for road surfaces, making them suited to runners looking for an everyday pair rather than something specifically designed for racing.
Shopper Reviews
Although there are no direct reviews on Sports Direct for the Nike Revolution 8 Road Running Shoes, over on the Nike website, one five-star review said: "These are genuinely the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I really have never written a review on any shoe before, but if you're thinking about getting these, get it. Trust me. At this price too, it's a steal."
Another person wrote: "I use these shoes every day to work out and they're fantastic!" A third added: "This shoe works for me very well. I'm a walker and usually buy runners shoes as they allow my foot to spread out more comfortably than the Nikes that are sold as walking shoes. Fit was exact, comfort is excellent and I will be interested to see how many miles I can get out of them. The pop of orange on the swoosh is great, as orange is my favourite colour. All in all, for me, it was a great shoe."
Some disagreed slightly, however. For example, this person wrote: "Comfy, light, great daily. Shoe soles have been making a popping noise since day one. I tried everything to fix it." Another added: "I got these shoes as a Christmas gift. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 across all brands. I received a size 10 and my toes were squished to the end and also height wise. I do like how light the shoes are and they have great arch support."
Alternative Options
Staying on the lower price range, there are also the Reebok Viva Speed shoes for £30, down from £50, at JD Sports. They are available in four different colours, sizes 7 to 11, and are said to have a lightweight knit upper with synthetic details for 'an airy feel'.
On Adidas' site, there are the Duramo Speed 2 Running Shoes for £61.60, down from £80, which come in a variety of colours. Currently, the sizes available include 7, 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5, while others are out of stock. These are said to be best for road running and distances up to 21km.
