Two Ayrshire brothers proved they are a winning team after raising over £300 for their school with a Scotland World Cup themed pizza fundraiser. James McGurk, seven, and his older brother Matthew, 10, came up with the idea to support Beith Primary School after their dad Mick launched his new business, The Wee Pizza Co, in the town.
Football-Inspired Pizza Creations
The Beith brothers decided to combine their love of football with fundraising by organising a special charity night on Father's Day, featuring a menu packed with football-inspired pizza creations. Customers were able to tuck into inventive specials including The Cheese Clark, The Hot McTominay, and The Messi (GOAT), topped with caramelised onion and goat's cheese in honour of the Argentine superstar.
While the event was designed to boost the school coffers, it also meant Mick would be giving away the night's takings rather than earning extra dough for the business. Mick said: "The boys have really got into supporting Scotland in the World Cup and they wanted to do something for their school so it really made sense to combine the two."
Fundraiser Success
The fundraiser proved a big success, raising £310 for the school. Beith Primary School Parent Council thanked the family on social media, saying: "Thank you so much The Wee Pizza Co. What a fantastic amount for the children in Beith Primary School. We really appreciate it."
After a busy evening, Mick joked: "I'd be happy to do it again – maybe we can double it if Scotland get to the final." The Wee Pizza Company can be followed on Instagram and Facebook for more pizza fun.
