The historic Italian restaurant chain Spaghetti House has permanently closed all its outlets after its parent company, Lavval Restaurants, entered administration. This move has resulted in all 101 employees being made redundant across the chain's locations.

Three Spaghetti House sites had already shut in recent weeks, and administrators have now closed the remaining five restaurants, all situated in central London. The company's leadership attributed the collapse to a combination of escalating costs and challenging trading conditions.
Factors behind the decision
Luigi Lavarini, executive chairman of Lavval Restaurants, explained that the business faced mounting pressures from the pandemic, Brexit, government budgets, and global instability. He noted that balancing increased operational costs with reduced customer demand, driven by the rising cost of living, proved insurmountable.
The chain, which had been a fixture of London's dining scene for decades, joins a growing list of hospitality businesses struggling under current economic strains. All staff have been let go, with no immediate plans for revival.
