Martin Odegaard has declared that Arsenal are ready to bring trophies home after a vital 1-0 victory over Burnley moved them closer to Premier League glory. The Gunners are now just one game away from securing their first top-flight title in 22 years, with a Champions League final against Paris St Germain also on the horizon.
Victory Over Burnley
Kai Havertz's first-half header proved decisive at the Emirates Stadium, keeping the title race in Arsenal's hands. Manchester City must beat Bournemouth on Tuesday to take the contest to the final day.
Speaking after the match, Odegaard said: 'I am really proud. It has been an amazing season so far. We have one big one left and then the Champions League final and we want to take the trophies home. I can promise you all that we will give everything we have, and keep going until the very end.'
Arteta's Emotional Tribute
Manager Mikel Arteta was given a huge reception by the home crowd. He reflected on the club's transformation: 'It is an absolute joy to witness the transformation and contribution each of you have had to turn this place into the most beautiful place to enjoy and play our football games.'
Burnley Controversy
Burnley interim boss Mike Jackson was left frustrated after Havertz escaped a red card for a late foul on Lesley Ugochukwu. 'It is a red card. It is dangerous, he is leaving the floor, and it is cynical foul to break up play,' Jackson said. 'When you look back at it frame-by-frame, you must be able to see that.'
Arsenal's final league match is away to Crystal Palace on Sunday, with the Champions League final against PSG in Budapest set for May 30.
