Arsenal have received a significant boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Fulham this weekend, as the visitors have been hit by a triple injury blow. Fulham manager Marco Silva confirmed during his Thursday press conference that Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi, and Kevin Mbabu will all miss the match at the Emirates Stadium.
Sessegnon Ruled Out
Ryan Sessegnon, who scored the decisive goal against Aston Villa last weekend, has been ruled out of the Arsenal game and is likely to miss the following fixture as well. Silva stated: "It's not good news. Sessegnon is going to be out of the next game, and probably the one after will be the same story for him, and then we will have to assess him day by day. For the Arsenal game, for sure out. For the game after, for sure out."
Other Absentees
Silva also confirmed that Alex Iwobi and Kevin Mbabu remain sidelined. However, there is a glimmer of hope for Fulham as Kenny Tete could be involved. Silva added: "Kenny, we will have to see how he reacts from the last two sessions. He can probably be involved in the game." The manager also mentioned some doubts over other players, with assessments continuing.
Arsenal's Injury News
On the Arsenal side, Kai Havertz is still out after sustaining a fresh injury during the victory over Newcastle United, which also ruled him out of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid. However, both Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka made substitute appearances in that game, having recovered from recent injuries. Saka's nine-minute cameo last weekend was his first outing since mid-March, and he played the final 22 minutes in Madrid, suggesting he could be in line to start against Fulham.
Title Race Implications
The match is one of four crucial remaining league fixtures for Mikel Arteta's side, with the Premier League title still up for grabs. Manchester City play over 48 hours later against Everton. Arsenal's Champions League semi-final second leg follows midweek after a contentious 1-1 draw with Atletico, where referee Danny Makkelie awarded three penalties but only two stood. Arteta expressed frustration over a penalty decision involving Eberechi Eze being overturned, saying: "What I'm incredibly fuming with is how the hell the penalty on Ebz gets overturned in the manner that it happened when there is no clear and obvious error."
