The winning numbers for the National Lottery Lotto and Thunderball draws on Wednesday, June 17, are now available. A massive £4.7 million jackpot was up for grabs in the Lotto draw, while the Thunderball offered an incredible £500,000.

The winning National Lottery Lotto numbers were drawn at 8pm, followed shortly after by the Thunderball numbers.
Biggest Winners
The largest Lotto jackpot ever won was £35 million by an anonymous player in April 2016. In January 2016, two ticket-holders each won £33 million. Earlier, a jackpot of £42,008,610 was drawn in January 1996 and split among three winners, each receiving £14,002,870. A single ticket won £26.4 million on New Year's Eve 2016.
How the Lottery Works
The UK National Lottery began on November 19, 1994. Of every pound spent, 50% goes to the prize fund, 28% to good causes, 12% to the government as duty, 5% to retailers, and 5% to the operator.
