Henry Cavill's WWII Film Airs on BBC One This Weekend

Henry Cavill's British World War 2 action-comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is set to make its broadcast television debut on BBC One this Sunday evening at 11pm. The film, which originally launched on Amazon Prime Video UK two years ago, will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer for a limited time afterward.

Based on True Events

Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film is based on recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events. The official synopsis describes it as 'an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including [future James Bond] author Ian Fleming.'

The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly 'ungentlemanly' fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.
