Euromillions Winner Has Days to Claim £177k Prize

A EuroMillions winner has only days left to claim a substantial prize of £177,547.30, with the deadline expiring at midnight on Wednesday, July 15. The winning ticket was purchased in Watford on January 16, but the rightful owner has not yet come forward.

Urgent Appeal to Check Wallets and Drawers

Lottery organisers are urging the public to check their wallets, drawers, and other places where a ticket might have been forgotten. The winning EuroMillions numbers for the January 16 draw were 5, 17, 24, 29, 50, and the Lucky Star numbers were 5 and 10.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “Time is now running out for this mystery winner. In just one week, the deadline to claim this £177,547.30 EuroMillions prize will expire, so we’re asking everyone who may have bought a ticket in the area to make one last thorough check.”

Five-Month Search Nears End

Carter added: “We’ve searched for more than five months, but there is still time for this lucky ticket-holder to come forward. Check that kitchen drawer, your wallet, the glovebox of the car, the pockets of old coats and bags – anywhere a ticket could have been tucked away and forgotten.”

He also encouraged people to spread the word: “With only days remaining, we’d also ask people to spread the word. Talk to friends, family, neighbours and colleagues who may have played EuroMillions back in January. Our priority is making sure this prize reaches its rightful owner before the deadline passes and this incredible opportunity is lost forever.”

How EuroMillions Works

EuroMillions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday. Players select five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Star numbers from 1 to 12. Alternatively, they can opt for a 'Lucky Dip' for random numbers. The game features 13 prize tiers, with the jackpot capped at €250 million (approximately £213 million).
